Our Story

The Story Behind Khat

For the last two to three years, our journey has taken us across India and beyond—through different cities, cultures, landscapes, conversations, and countless experiences. As poets and people deeply connected to literature, we have always believed that some memories are not meant to be remembered only through photographs or words; they are meant to be felt.

During these travels, we began exploring the world of fragrances with the same curiosity with which we approach poetry. We researched perfumes, ingredients, notes, cultures, traditions, and the emotions associated with different scents. We spoke to people, experienced fragrances from different parts of the world, studied what makes a perfume memorable, and slowly began asking ourselves one simple question: Can a fragrance tell a story the way a poem does?

That question became the beginning of Khat.

We realised that poetry and perfume share something beautiful—they both have the power to transport you somewhere without explaining everything. A single line can bring back a person, a place, or a moment. A single fragrance can do exactly the same.

And that is where literature met perfumery.

Khat was born from this connection—the idea of creating perfumes that are not merely worn, but experienced. Every fragrance is inspired by an emotion, a memory, a mood, or a story. The names, the poetry, the packaging, and every little detail are designed to make fragrance feel personal.

Because for us, perfume isn’t just a scent.

It is a poem you carry with you.
